EbooksEtcetera is the creation of Michael and Marianne Brown of Eureka Springs, Arkansas, inspired by a craving for lifelong learning with a home backdrop of pure nature in the Arkansas Ozarks.  Maintaining an extensive library of traditional books is a daunting task; we continued to amass more and more books each year despite no increase in space.  Purchasing ebooks became a perfect alternative for us.  We realized that our grown children use ebooks in college as textbooks and in research.  Businesses and industries use ebooks at a growing rate.  With the explosion of the vast amount information produced everyday, ebooks are now necessary to prevent wasteful tree cuts and printing.  Don't get us wrong - we love traditional books, and we will never abandon them; however, using ebooks is an excellent choice for many reasons and purposes.  We think that you will enjoy ebooks and find a place for them in your life. 

If you’ve never used ebooks yet, give them a chance.  Purchase some and test their uses and advantages, especially in traveling and for cost-savings.  You can increase your library but not your space, and they are affordable in price, allowing you to purchase many ebooks for the price of one new hardback.  

We maintain a close watch on new releases, best sellers, and classics.  We strongly encourage self-improvement through education.  We are strong advocates of continuing education throughout one’s entire life.  We support additional learning outside of public schools, because learning should not stop when the bell rings five days a week.  We also recognize the value of homeschooling, and applaud those families who dedicate themselves to maintaining those consistent and rigorous standards.  While some ebooks, such as literature and health information in particular, may have adult plots or content, we choose not to sell overtly immoral or hateful ebooks.  We believe in selling only those products that we would be proud to use everyday in our home and to give as gifts.

Michael and Marianne live in Eureka Springs, Arkansas, which is a beautiful, mountainous Ozark town of approximately 2,000 people.  Visitors from around the world travel to Eureka Springs to enjoy its breathtaking hills, lakes, trees, and wildlife.  The tiny town is well-known for its history.  Most of the town is situated in a National Historic District, and tourists flock to visit the downtown shops in limestone buildings and to see the residents' Victorian style homes throughout town.  Trollies and horse-drawn carriages mix in with local traffic and pedestrians on the winding and narrow mountain streets.  There are no stoplights in Eureka Springs, nor do any streets meet at 90 degree angles.  The town is home to dozens of distinguised artists and artisans, musicians, writers, and other creative talents.  Michael works in law enforcement, and has a background as a supervisor in state and local corrections and also as a private detective, to name just a few interesting careers.  Marianne (McBeth) Brown is an attorney and a local judge in Eureka Springs.  Among many common interests, we share a love for learning and reading while enjoying the simpler way of life.
